
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (November 7, 2025) – Viking Motorsports announced today that Parker Retzlaff will take the wheel of the No. 99 Chevrolet for the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season. Alongside this exciting change, the team also welcomes Danny Efland as crew chief, marking a new chapter in the organization’s relentless pursuit of excellence and competitive growth.
Team owner Don Sackett described the move as “the next step in the Viking journey,” saying, “Parker brings youthful energy, talent, and a hunger to win that aligns perfectly with our Viking spirit. Danny’s technical expertise and leadership will strengthen our team in the race shop and at the track. Together, they represent the next evolution of Viking Motorsports as we continue to build a program that’s truly Forged to Race.”
Retzlaff, a rising NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driver known for his speed and composure, shared his enthusiasm for the opportunity: “Joining Viking Motorsports feels like the perfect fit. You can feel the passion and drive this team has from top to bottom. The No. 99 Chevy has huge potential, and I’m ready to give everything I’ve got for Don, Danny, and the whole Viking family. New crew chief Danny Efland, who brings a wealth of experience as both a former driver and accomplished race engineer and crew chief, added: “I’m excited to join this team and work with Parker to bring the No. 99 program to the next level. The team also announced that veteran crew chief Pat Tryson will transition into a new role within Viking Motorsports, overseeing the team’s Mooresville shop operations.
